The guitar which was set on fire during Jimi’s performance at the Monterrey Pop Festival in 1967. The body paint design was done by Jimi himself.

Based on the date of the Monterrey Pop Festival, this guitar can’t be anything later than a 1967. There were very few Stratocasters produced in ’67, due to low sales. Fender was going to remove it from the price list. It is more than likely that the Stratocaster in question was from 1964 or 1965, given the small headstock and the narrow dot spacing on the 12th fret of the neck.
